International Festivals and Markets: Preparing Projects, Schedules, and Pitching<\/strong><\/p>

Led by international consultant Marika Kozlovska<\/strong>, the workshop explores how international festivals and markets function as strategic platforms for the development and distribution of audiovisual projects. It will cover methods for preparing materials, organizing schedules, and developing pitching strategies, with a focus on maximizing networking opportunities and building partnerships.<\/span><\/p>

About the speaker:<\/strong><\/p>

Marika Kozlovska is a strategic facilitator and international film consultant with over 15 years of experience in the global film industry. She supports producers, institutions, film funds, and audiovisual agencies in the areas of international market strategy, positioning, and professional networking. She has collaborated with organizations such as Cinema do Brasil, EAVE on Demand, European Film Market, IFFR, the Austrian Film Institute, the Zurich Film Fund, and the Saudi Film Commission, and has served as a reader, evaluator, moderator, and workshop facilitator at international markets and industry programs.<\/p>

Workshop 2<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

International Funds: How They Work, Tips for Investing<\/strong><\/p>

Led by German producer Daniel Tenne<\/strong> of 70 Steps, the workshop explores the main international funds supporting the audiovisual sector. The session covers eligibility criteria, application processes, and practical recommendations for enhancing the competitiveness of projects.<\/p>

About the speaker:<\/strong><\/p>

Daniel is an independent producer and co-founder of 70 STEPS. He (co-)produces both fiction and documentary. His current slate includes titles such as “Thousand Yard Stare” by Ari Folman, “She Makes and Unmakes” by Jonas Bak, “Kurinji” by Payal Sethi and “Tear Gas” by Uta Beria, amongst others. Daniel studied International Producing at Filmakademie Ludwigsburg and is an Alumnus of EAVE Ties That Bind, ACE Training Days, UCLA Extension, International Screen Institute and the Documentary Campus Masterschool. He is a certified Green Consultant.<\/span><\/p>

Workshop 3<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

International Co-Production: Benefits and How to Get Started<\/strong><\/p>

Led by Daniel Pech<\/strong>, the workshop covers the fundamentals of international co-production, including its benefits and challenges for creation and distribution. The session addresses partnership models, legal requirements, and strategies for structuring co-production projects.<\/p>

About the speaker:<\/strong><\/p>

Daniel Pech is a partner at the production company Multiverso Produ\u00e7\u00f5es and the distribution company Retrato Filmes. He produced the feature films “A Common Crime” (dir. Francisco M\u00e1rquez, Berlin Film Festival, 2020) and “Prison in the Andes” (dir. Felipe Carmona, London Film Festival, 2023), among others. He served as Executive Producer on “Too Late to Die Young” (dir. Dominga Sotomayor, Locarno \u2013 Best Director Award, 2018), “Friendly Beast” (dir. Gabriela Amaral Almeida, Sitges, 2017), and “Severina” (dir. Felipe Hirsch, Locarno, 2017), among others. He is currently producing “The World Is Ours” (dir. Francisco M\u00e1rquez), in post-production, as well as “Mother of Gold” (dir. Madiano Marcheti) and “La escuela pesada” (dir. Hern\u00e1n Rosselli), both in pre-production. Through Retrato Filmes, he has distributed features such as “Sentimental Value” and “Sir\u00e2t”.<\/p>

International Sales and Distribution: How It Works, How to Negotiate Good Deals, Sales Strategies<\/strong><\/p>

Led by Florencia Gasparini Rey<\/strong>, sales agent and coordinator of Ventana Sur, the workshop explores the dynamics of sales and international distribution of audiovisual works. The training covers key business models, contract negotiation practices, and commercial strategies, with a focus on the specific characteristics of different territories and platforms.<\/p>

Florencia Gasparini Rey is an independent film consultant specializing in international sales and distribution, with over 15 years of experience in the audiovisual industry. She currently serves as Coordinator of Ventana Sur Animation!, supporting the development and market positioning of animation projects. With a strong focus on audience-driven strategies, she works across genres, with a particular affinity for animation and horror cinema.<\/p>

Workshop 5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

What the editing process can and cannot solve in your film<\/strong><\/p>

Led by Marcelo Siqueira<\/strong>, the workshop explores the technical and creative boundaries of post-production processes. It will examine the various stages of post-production and their strategic planning, highlighting their importance for the narrative and aesthetic quality of the work, as well as the importance of planning for optimizing the process and budget.<\/p>

About the speaker:<\/strong><\/p>

He is one of Brazil’s leading experts in Post-Production and Visual Effects. A member of the Brazilian Academy of Cinema, the Brazilian Cinematography Association, and the Visual Effects Society, he has accumulated 27 nominations and 7 awards for best visual effects throughout his career. He began his journey in 1994 at Casablanca and, in 1999, took part in the founding of Teleimage, where he led post-production teams and pioneered the implementation of technologies such as 2K digital intermediate, digital restoration, stereoscopy, and DCP in Brazil. In 2011, he founded MISTIKA, a post-production company with a national presence focused on audiovisual entertainment. Among his most notable works are “O Pequeno Segredo,” “Princesa da Yakuza,” “Jezabel,” “Brasil Animado,” and the animated series “As Aventuras de Lino” for Disney. In 2023, he served as VFX Supervisor and Second Unit Director on Netflix’s “Senna,” considered one of the largest audiovisual projects ever produced in Latin America.<\/p>
