Workshop aimed at developing audience engagement strategies for feature films, with Nicolò Gallio, consultant at TorinoFilmLab.
Nicolò Gallio's session
The masterclass examined the dual challenge currently faced by film marketing and audience design, as cognitive biases and stereotypes about audiences collide with the algorithmic assumptions embedded in AI tools and technologies such as chatbots and Large Language Models — and what we can do to identify them.
Sile Culley's session
In today’s competitive and dynamic film landscape, it is essential to understand the audience from the earliest stages of a project. This masterclass offered producers a fundamental introduction to Audience Design and its practical application when working with different stakeholders across the entire film value chain.
The masterclass was followed by a conversation around an insightful case study with Nicolò Gallio, Audience Design and Marketing consultant, who shared his experiences from a recent collaboration on the Brazilian feature film A Margem do Rio.
For feature film projects in post production stage.
In addition to the activities aimed at participants enrolled in the TFL Extended Audience Design Workshop (call above), it was also possible to register projects in the finalization phase in the TFL Extended Audience Design Workshop for Projects. The selected projects were used as case studies during the TFL Extended Audience Design Workshop, where participants developed strategies to optimize the sales and distribution potential of the films under the guidance of international tutors.
At the end of the workshop, a report containing a complete audience design strategy was prepared and delivered to the proposer of the selected project.
It was conducted by TorinoFilmLab, an international audiovisual laboratory and center that supports authors and talents from all over the world, especially professionals working on their first and second fiction films, with training, development, financing and networking activities.
